This is what the car looks like now.  This is what I want it to look like.
I want to use as much as I can from the original car, but as the front half of the body of the car is in a very bad condition I have decided to use the nose (003) of the donor car.

There are quite a few differences between a normal 2cv body and the body of a Sahara as you can see in the pictures. The differences on the nose are mainly because of the large tires used on a Sahara, 155x400 tires and that's big!!! I bought a complete new floor for the Sahara but the  standard 2cv floor panels had to be changed in to a Sahara floor panel.

To get a result as close to original as possible I bought a spot welder for the Sahara project. That proved to be a very good idea, it makes life a lot easier.

This was very scary to do, but I wanted to use the fire wall from the Sahara as it's quite different from the standard 2cv. There is a lot of work to do on the fire wall but once it's fixed I'll spot weld it in the donor 2cv nose. I may have to re-locate the support plate for the accelerator pedal in the red circle as it doesn't seems to fit with the gear control tunnel. Does anyone have pictures of this support plate?

In picture 016 you see the difference between a Sahara accelerator pedal and a normal 12hp one. The bottom one is the Sahara pedal. The original accelerator pedal has been "modified" so there is some work to undo that. The pedal has been cut in half for some reason but with the help of the normal 12ph accelerator pedal I can reconstruct it to original specifications.
